"Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be" Summerville, SC - The Management & Staff of The Serenity Mortuary announce the passing of Mrs. Elease Hamm Robinson, 83 of Summerville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Thursday evening, February 2, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her beloved family. The public viewing for Mrs. Elease Hamm Robinson will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in the chapel of The Serenity Mortuary during the hours of 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Final services and burial will be carried out under the auspices of Carnie P. Bragg Funeral Home, Inc. - Paterson Chapel, 256 Rosa Parks Blvd, Paterson, NJ 07501 (973) 278-6330. ***The Management & Staff of The Serenity Mortuary are honored to serve the family of the late Mrs. Elease Hamm Robinson, we ask that you please keep her family in your thoughts as well as your prayers.*** Elease Robinson was born the sixth of Seven children in Darlington, SC April 12, 1939, to the union of Annie Lee and David Hamm. She attended school in the Darlington School System. March 10, 1957, Elease married Jerry E. Robinson and relocated to Paterson, NJ. Four children were born into the union: Fredrick, Gregory, Aaron, and Marcella. She was employed with Helen's Candy Factory, Manhattan Shirt Company, and Professional Homemaker Services for Several NJ Families. A dear friend Sallie Carr recommended her for the last place she was employed: The Youth Consultation Services Child Care and Development Holly Center in Hackensack, NJ, until her Retirement in 2006. Elease was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Spirit under the pastorate of Bishop Herbert Frazier at the Greater Bethel Church of Christ. Her salvation was dear to her; she loved everything about her church and showed it by attending every morning and evening service. Elease enjoyed hearing her pastor preach the word of God and the different choirs ministering through songs. Her contributions to the ministry included but were not limited to, ushering and sharing her cooking skills. Elease was an excellent cook and looked forward to sharing meals with her church family and anyone she could help. Cooking was her passion, and her doors were always open, especially on Sundays when all the neighborhood kids would come to her home and eat. Elease loved the family tradition of traveling. She was on the road going somewhere every chance she got, for no grass grew under any Hamm or Robinson's feet. They loved to travel. While still at home, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching soap operas. She was an athletic young lady playing softball on several South Carolina and New Jersey teams. She instilled athleticism into her children, and her children followed in her footsteps. Elease was predeceased by her parents, Annie Lee and David Hamm; her husband, Jerry Eugene Robinson; her son Gregory Robinson; her four sisters, Millis Wise, Jessie Houston, Hattie Mae Hamm, and Barbara Wesley, her two brothers, Sylvester Hamm and Joseph Hamm. She leaves to Cherish and continue her legacy her children Fredrick E. Robinson of Paterson; Aaron D. (Ella) Robinson of Summerville SC; Marcella V. (Thomas) Stuart of Stroudsburg, PA; her four grandchildren Rasheen D. (Kelly) Robinson of Jacksonville, Fl; Tyisha (Douglas) Bethea of North Charleston SC; Na'Asia Robinson of North Charleston, SC; Jazmin Robinson of Summerville, SC; great-grandchildren Makayla Simpson of Kansas City, Mo; Za'Riyah Porter of North Charleston, SC; Tyrone Bennett Jr. of North Charleston, SC; Carter Robinson of Jacksonville, Fl. and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
